A travel must have

scarves

The humble scarf.

This may seem obvious to those coming from a cooler climate.. but not so much for those living closer to the equator. So, here are some reason why a scarf should make your top 10 travel accessories list!

Use it as;

  • a blanket during those frigid flights
  • a makeshift pillow
  • a headband to cover up your tangled mane after a long flight or bus ride
  • an extra layers for cold weather
  • a head covering when visiting places of worship (this is especially true in Asia) or a skirt to cover up your legs (when visiting places of worship)
  • a cover-up or wrap for a bathing suit
  • a makeshift bag to carry extra food or groceries
  • a towel in times of emergency
  • a makeshift hat to protect against the blazing sun
  • as padding to protect fragile items in your luggage

A scarf can even help you blend in with the locals depending on which country you're in (In this instance it would be better to purchase your scarf at your destination after you land. Hey, you can keep it as a souvenir when your trip is over!

Oh, and if you cant go back to the hotel to change before dinner, you can just pull out your scarf to dress up your jeans and t-shirt for a casual-chic look.

Have you heard of Infinity Scarves? They may not be able to do as many things compared to a traditional scarf (primarily because the ends are sewn together) however, they do come with pockets where you can hide your cell, cash or cards. Also unlikely as you loop it around your neck, it will never just fall off and get left behind on the plane or bus or train.

Promising Review : bumblebecky

I'm in LOVE with this scarf. I call it my snack scarf & keep granola bars inside the pocket. I've also kept keys & my phone in there. Layered, you really can't tell anything is in there. It's definitely heavy with objects in it, but it doesn't get weighed down like I thought it would.
