“5 Powerful Questions To Ask During Difficult Conversations About Racism”
If you've ever struggled in conversations about racism with friends, family, or colleagues, you will find this video very helpful!
The first two questions are ice-breaker questions, to get the conversation going, and to create an environment of sharing, without judgment.
The last 3 questions are where you begin to dig a little deeper, challenge the person you’re speaking with to think critically, and self-reflect, while creating an opportunity for learning, growing, and healing.
Please note some things that should NEVER be present in these conversations about racism:
Manipulation
Pride
Selfishness
Guilt
Shame
Defensiveness
These conversations are always very difficult, but if you approach it the right way, and start with these 5 questions, you have a better chance of having a more effective conversation.
