I've been in the tech industry both research and innovation for 40 years. Elon is absolutely spot on

which is concerning because no one seems to be taking him seriously.

It's hard for a government to regulate what they don't understand. Even those who work with AI

on a daily basis barely understand it or its trajectory

The analogy of Terminator is a good one if you remove the robot factor. It was the fact that as

soon as Skynet became self aware, it determined humans were its biggest threat and AI had

to act immediately to eliminated that threat or humans would ultimate shut down AI.

Same thing goes for every AI based movie plot humans immediately become the threat to AI

by having the capacity to shut it down
