Entrepreneurs are misunderstood!
Many people are afraid of entrepreneurs simply because they don't understand what drives them. We are seeing this first hand with Donald Trump as he runs for President of The United States. Last night he was asked, [and I paraphrase] about whether he would rule out Nukes in a conflict or not and he said if we are hit by a nuke he will retaliate. This confused the moderator [Chris Mathews] and he asked whether he would rule out different countries and he said no. Mathews then went on to ask about the different countries and Trump said he would not rule it out. Mathews then went on to ask which countries specifically and Trump said he will not play his hand. Trump said in any negotiation you never play your hand. Now all the World is on notice that if Trump gets elected we are not messing around, and everyone is going nuts. OMG, the United States has finally stood up and said they are strong!
This line of thinking is not understood by the media or political people. Entrepreneurs never play their hand or telegraph their intent before it's done. Read Sun Tsu, The Art of War, and you will see when ever you are dealing with someone else they never know what is going on before the event or unless the entrepreneur wants them to know.
How does all this help us in growing our business, you might ask? Well, I am sure that you know many a company that has tight security and will not let secrets out before it's time. Entrepreneurs play close to the vest. How many times have you told someone about a business venture and they told you you were crazy and you quit? Why didn't you just show them how well you were doing first then introduce it to them. Success is the best example! Would anyone listen to Trump if he were a mom and pop small business or just another politician, no. They listen because he is accomplished and doesn't care.
Entrepreneurs are misunderstood simply because the stay the course and never quit no matter what is said. No matter what is done they are on the mission to grow their enterprise. They don't care what is said about them or their business. They are not politically correct and simply stay focused no mater what. They are constantly talking abut their product and its attributes and never stop. Results come when you show you believe in what you are doing totally.
When Bill Clinton ran for office the second time he asked Tony Robbins what he had to do to get elected and Tony said "You have to be congruent in what you do and what you say". In other words you have to walk the walk, and talk the talk. You have to live, eat, and sleep, your product. Tom Prendergast is a perfect example of this. Bill Gates, was a perfect example if this, Steve Jobs, Edison, Ford, we could go down the list. I put Tom in there because I happen to believe Markethive is the next V8 engine.
Are you focused on your enterprise and willing to live your dream?
Stay the course and win.
