Take good care of your eyesight
In the eyes only with washed hands
If you are going to use eye drops or ointments, you should start by washing your hands thoroughly. The drops should always be shaken thoroughly. Keep the eye open with one hand, drip the product into the inner corner of the eye, press the tear duct at the base of the nose for a moment and keep the eye closed for about ten minutes.
Some drops need to be kept in the fridge, others just need to be stored at room temperature, you will always find it written on the package or in the package leaflet. The drops usually last for weeks, so write the date you first used them on the box. Return them to the pharmacy when they expire. Although they look flawless, their use may not be safe.
Hand hygiene is essential even when applying ointment to the eyes. When opening a new ointment, squeeze about an inch of the ointment into a clean napkin, for example, and do not use it. Microparticles could stick to the tip of the package, which should not get into the eye. Press about an inch of ointment perfectly under the lower lid and keep your eye closed. Always store eye ointment according to the instructions.
Wishing you good health
