Telegram messaging application

At first glance, Telegram is not different from other text messaging services. In addition to text messages, you can send photos and other files with other users as attachments, voice messages, or even call them directly.
The telegram itself is free. It can be installed on smartphones and tablets, where it is offered as a classic application for Android and iOS systems. You can also have it on a computer running Windows, Linux or MacOS. And finally, it can be run directly in a web browser. So you really have a lot of options to get it up and running.
To register yourself, you must use a telephone number, through which your identity will be verified via a text message. The application can be active on multiple devices at the same time, because the content can be synchronized.

The success of the Telegram lies primarily in a special function called channels. These do not allow you to engage with your own content, but allow you to receive current news from a selected person or organization (a bit reminiscent of  RSS feeds). Of course, channels can also function as a regular profile on a social network, where a given organization, medium or other company regularly sends links to important news or reports.
You can subscribe to as many channels as you want, while news from these sources travels to you in the same way as text or multimedia messages from other people.

Another advantage of Telegram as a source of information over other social networks with the possibility of receiving news is the complete absence of advertisements and also the lack of an algorithm that would compile the posts on the main page. In short, everything is arranged chronologically, exactly as the resource intended, and you are not disturbed by redundant content, such as ads or posts from recommended resources that you are not yet following.
