Internet marketing...seems to be a funny thing these days especially when considering the MLM industry. I have come to the conclusion that it is not the MLM industry I despise but rather the culture that has been created among distributors, affiliates, associates, etc. whatever you want to call it.
I started marketing online back in 2005. One day I opened and email asking me to take a look at another way to earn income and start a business from home. I am not going to go into details about what company this was with. But, they are now one of the largest and most successful MLM opportunities out there and will be around for many years to come. I joined that opportunity and advanced in their binary compensation plan to diamond team leader. I did it all through email marketing. I bought leads from my upline and people joined the business. To this day I believe email marketing is the most effective method for building any business out there aside from using the telephone. Sure people can write content, entice people about their opportunities and show good faith in what they are promoting. However, there may be unsuccessful results if the information does not touch people on a personal level in a postive way.
The key to being successful online is promote yourself, not some company or product. Now that is important. I am reaching a new degree of marketing where my links will seldomly be posted. I believe the content that I write is stronger than any opportunity out there. Through sharing knowledge about what I do, people ask to learn more. Over the past ten years I have seen a great industry turn into a bunch of spammers who can not get past posting how great their MLM deal is with their affiliate links. I find this nauseating-like verbal diarrhea. I am sure most people would agree. I get emails all the time from people spamming me trying to pitch their business. You see the thing is, there are so many companies out there regurgitating the same type of products with the same type of comp plan. NO ONE CARES what business you are promoting. What prospects want to know is - Can you teach me how to make money and can I trust you (my enroller)? Most distributors will show you exactly how they are not making money and then pass you off to some upline support who is successful but never available to contact.
Now these claims are based on some of my personal experience over the past 10 years. Readers experiences may be different.
To put a long story short- I know my business. It is simple. The method is simple. The work is hard. The work in MLM will always be hard. Only the people who work hard get to the top of the company while the lazy people who expect a free ride to riches sits broke with no growth. That is exactly where 90 percent of MLM'ers are right now. Broke and busted. They are the exact people who will tell you you can make $40,000 a month in the next 6o days. Guess what??? That will never happen. It never has happened unless someone who is already loaded with cash has paid top dollar advertising to get their business seen.
You see, I have changed my mindset about MLM. I am no longer looking for business partners/distributors. My goal is to find customers for my video conferencing software.Two years ago I would have put my link right there in that bold text. I am thinking beyond that now. I have realized it doesn't even matter. People will find my site. I have reached a new cleaner method of SEO to drive traffic to my website. The curiosity will eventually have people asking me for it. I would love to go into the details of my SEO strategies. I am by no means a guru but I do know how to get my sites indexed so people see them.

Blogging can be a very powerful thing if done right. Speak from the heart and not about your business so much and you will see the results.
