When you lay it out this clearly, this concisely it’s obviously nonsense. Compromise is exactly what’s called for. Nothing in life that is worth having runs down the same side of the street ALL the time.

One way streets do not get us where we NEED to go! Many Of The Things We Want And Need Are Two Or Three Streets Over or On The Other Side Of Town, Or In A Different Town. In our kind of work it might mean changing our focus, or deciding Which particular tool is best for this project. Each Of Those Decisions is in reality, COMPROMISES! Choose Carefully.

You JUST can not have everything you want. But, if you care enough and make enough trade offs, and work hard enough, you might be able to get Many of the things you want and some of the things that really, really matter.

The real question might not be, “what do you want,” it might be, “what do you care enough about to compromise some for?” Be Careful That You Do Not Become The Pariah Of Your Business Associates, The Guy Who Will Compromise On Anything To Make A Sale!
