As you may have guessed, Woodstock—Back to the Garden: The Definitive 50th Anniversary Archive was recorded from August 15 until August 18, 1969 during the Woodstock Music Festival. Back to the Garden is both a vinyl record compilation and a box-set of 38 CDs. The archive was released on August 2, 2019.

Rhino Entertainment, the label on which the album was released, won a Grammy Award nomination for Best Historical Album, among several others. The archive also has a special edition, which comes with a guitar strap and coffee table book called Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music.
