Metaphysical Animation released Metaphysical Animation off-label. The self-released vinyl dropped in 1973, and it had A-, B-, C-, and D-sides with a total of eight songs, starting with “Two Songs in Space” and ending with “You’re the Guru.” The jazz/progressive rock album is pretty rare, with not many pressed.

Metaphysical Animation got a re-release in Italy in 2019, the most recent reissuance of the album. The band’s original vinyl release totaled just 50 copies. The cover art for the later 2019 release, produced by Black Widow, an Italian label, is far more interesting than the art for the under-funded original.
