125. Black Flag – Nervous Breakdown

Posted by Bill Rippel on March 18, 2021 - 1:28am

Year: 1979
Record label: SST Records
Worth Today: $1495.00*

Black Flag, a hardcore punk band, released Nervous Breakdown, their debut EP in 1979 on SST Records. It was not just Black Flag’s first release; it was SST Records’ first release as well. Greg Ginn financed the album through proceeds he made from his mail-order ham radio company. Ginn bought a vinyl pressing plant with his money and founded SST Records.

The album was originally supposed to be released on a different label, but Black Flag felt that that label took too long. The A-side of Nervous Breakdown consists of “Nervous Breakdown,” and the B-side consists of three tracks: “Fix Me,” “I’ve Had It,” and “Wasted.”
