Released in the fifties, the vinyl album containing “That’s When Your Heartache Begins” and “My Happiness” was a double-sided acetate that Presley made as a demo single. He paid $3.98 in 1953 for time in the Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. He recorded this vinyl album there, while he was still unsigned.
“My Happiness” was a song from 1937 by Fred Fisher. Presley redid the song, but it wouldn’t become famous until Connie Francis sang it in 1948. The other side, which contained “That’s When Your Heartaches Begin,” would be revisited by The King on two other occasions—1956 and 1957.
