Another pricey vinyl is Meddle by Pink Floyd. Recorded at three London, England studios: AIR, Morgan, and Abbey Road, this was the rock band’s sixth album. It was released on Halloween of 1971. Harvest Records was the producer. Meddle was recorded between tours, and it took from January to August of 1971 to finish, as Pink Floyd had other commitments.
Meddle got made, and its cover immediately confused fans. Later, the band would say it was their least-favorite cover. The image is supposed to represent an ear underwater as it collected sound waves (the water rippling). The designer, Storm Thorgerson later said he felt the album was “much better” than the cover.
