Mistafide’s Equidity Funk was a hip-hop/rap album that was a major part of that genre’s early work. Equidity Funk dropped in 1980. The vinyl release, recorded on the Land of Hits label, was a twelve-inch, 33 1/3 RPM. The A-side and B-side both had just one twelve-minute recording, “Equidity Funk.”

Heavenly Crown signed on as the publisher, while the final vinyl was mastered at Frankford/Wayne Mastering Labs. Mistafide’s Equidity Funk was described by one reviewer as a “colossal old-school rap behemoth” that makes “serious collectors ‘salivate’.” Equidity Funk is available for streaming, but nothing beats the old-school vibe of vinyl.
