Saxophonist Charlie Parker has gone down in history as one of the greatest musicians of all time. His record, Bird Blows the Blues, was released in 1950 on Dial Records. The A-side had six tracks, starting with “Relaxing at Camarillo” and ending with “Cool Blues.” The B-side were all alternative versions of the tracks on this first side.
On the base was Red Callender and on the drums was Don Lamond. Miles Davis played the trumpet for a few tracks. This old vinyl is pretty rare, and it was originally a reissue of Dial’s LP-1. At auction, Bird Blows the Blues sells for nearly $5,000.
