Posted by Bill Rippel on January 28, 2021 - 1:02am

Year: 1967
Record label:  Decca Records (UK), London Records (US)
Worth Today: $3,000.00*

The Rolling Stones’ Their Satanic Majesties Request was the band’s sixth British album and eighth American release. It was the first to be released in both countries in identical versions. The album’s title refers to the text inside a British passport, which states, “Her Britannic Majesty Requests and Requires…”

Their Satanic Majesties Request was one of the Stones’ most controversial albums, not just because of the title but because the band members later decided they hated it. Keith Richards called it “a load of cr*p,” while Mick Jagger said it was “not very good.” Despite that, the original vinyl records sell for $3,000 at auction.
