The rock band Hunger released Strictly From Hunger, the band’s only album, on Public! The release took place in America in January 1969, followed by a re-release in 1983, 1994, 1999, and 2018. Strictly From Hunger was the band’s only album before it broke up.

Strictly From Hunger’s European release happened in 1968, and the band did far better in radio play and sales numbers there. The added pressure of the success caused the band to break up. In 1969, a reworked version of the record, featuring Ed King (the guitarist from Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Strawberry Alarm Clock, was released. It has since achieved cult status among psychedelic rock fans.
