From Genesis to Revelation was Genesis’ debut album, released on Decca Records back in 1969. The record began from a collection of demo songs recorded in the mid-sixties, while the founding members of Genesis were still students at Surrey’s Charterhouse. Famously, recording for From Genesis to Revelation took just two days.

The album was put together in a total of ten days, and the band did most of its new work in between school holidays. All in all, From Genesis sold 650 copies. It didn’t chart, but the vinyl was rare enough that it became a high-seller at auction years later.
