Speed, Glue & Shinki released its eponymous album in 1972 on Atlantic. Speed, Glue, & Shinki was part of the psychedelic rock genre. The band was formed in Japan in 1970 by Shinki Chen, a guitarist, and Ikuzo Orita. The band also consisted of Masayoshi Kabe, Joey Smith, and Mike Hanopol.
Speed, Glue, & Shinki was popular in part because of Shinki himself, who, in Japan, was considered to be on-par with Jimi Hendrix. The band broke up because of personal issues, which were compounded by the band’s low sales. Atlantic reissued the group’s albums in 2019 on Christmas Day.
