Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio asked Martyn Lawrence Bullard, a famed designer, to help her construct her home in Santa Monica, California. Ambrosio is a native of Brazil, and she wanted her SoCal digs to remind her of her home country’s sunny, paradise-like atmosphere.

The house has a lot of art and interesting pieces of furniture, such as a nineteenth-century Chinese cabinet in the foyer. The backyard is where the party happens, however, as there is a volleyball court and barbecue center, both of which are perfect for sunny nights in Santa Monica. Though Ambrosio works in L.A., she went west when picking the place to raise her kids.
