Former Tonight Show host Johnny Carson relocated his late-night program from New York to California in 1972. In the mid-80s, Carson chose to settle in California by purchasing a mansion with a view of Point Dume Beach. The mansion was created by architect Ed Niles.

Johnny Carson lived at the estate until his passing in 2005. The mansion includes a sun deck, pool, waterfall, tennis courts, and gym, in addition to a guest house with two bedrooms of its own. While the property was originally listed for $81.5 million, it ended up getting sold for $40 million to Juul’s Riaz Valani.
