Marilyn Monroe lived in this pricey home in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood until 1962. The actress and model reportedly lived in forty-three different homes throughout her life, but this mansion was different, as it was the first one she actually chose and bought completely on her own.

Her psychiatrist told her she should put down some roots, and so she did, moving into this Brentwood pad. The house cost $90,000 at the time, and it measured 23,200 square feet. The hacienda-style, one-story home had three bathrooms, four bedrooms, a swimming pool, citrus grove, and an expansive yard for Monroe to catch a tan.
