Everyone knows Ferraris are expensive, but this 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO pushes that notion to new heights. The GTO set the record in June of 2018 for the most expensive car ever sold at auction. The GTO sold to a private owner for $70 million.

This particular model has been sought-after by collectors for a while. The new GTO cost $18,000 back in 1963, and the eccentric Enzo Ferrari had to personally approve each buyer. Sports Car International named this model the “Best Sports Car of All Time.” Rarity and high prices in the auto collecting industry helped drive the $70 million auction price.
