Care Bear collectors report that the 1983 Care Bears Cousins Pink Monkey is one of the most valuable and sought-after from the Care Bear family. The “Cousins” collection added new faces to the Care Bear lineup, including a horse, cat, dog, lamb, pig, elephant, racoon, and, of course, a pink monkey.
The 1983 prototype is the most valuable, with collectors’ sites asking for $10,000 for it. This plush toy dates back to just one year after the Care Bear franchise was founded. Parker Brothers and Kenner produced the toys on a $6 million ad budget (around $16.35 million today).
