Super Mario Bros. has become one of the most beloved games in America, and an original test copy of the game from 1985 sold for $140,000 at auction. The cartridge was extremely rare, as only a few were sold in the test market. The one sold at auction is thought to be the only sealed cartridge of its condition.

The rare copy was easily identified by its sticker seal. Nintendo sold forty-million copies of Super Mario Bros., but only a few thousand out of those millions were part of the test-launch, which took place in Los Angeles, California and New York City.
