Most Valuable Collectors' Items in the World

Posted by Bill Rippel on June 01, 2022 - 12:49am

71. 1969 Volkswagen Beach Bomb Hot Wheels

Maker: Mattel
Original Price: $0.98*
Worth Today: $72,000+*

Hot Wheels made just 144 prototypes of the 1969 Volkswagen Beach Bomb, and, to this day, just fifty are known to exist, so that explains why the price of this rare collectible is so high. The Beach Bomb is one of the rarest Hot Wheels of all time, in addition to items like the 1970 Mad Maverick and 2008 Diamond-Encrusted Anniversary Edition.

The Beach Bomb might even be rarer than the estimated fifty-count. According to collector Bruce Pascal (who owns one of the Beach Bombs), there are only two left today. The pink VW Hot Wheels car can easily fetch at least $72,000.
