There are twenty-seven different versions of the 1961 Matchbox No. 30, which is a Lesney Crane Truck. The No. 30’s other versions are priced at $25-$100, but a rare version, which has a red crane and light brown body, blew past that price. The rare No. 30 is especially hard to find.

The die-cast Matchbox car sold for $10,000 in 2004. A few years later, the toy was sold again for $13,000. Matchbox car collecting is a serious hobby, and the ’61 No. 30 came out just seven years after Mattel produced the first car. Since then, Matchbox is one of the most popular die-cast toy cars in existence.
