Nike created the Nike MAG, which hardcore Back to the Future enthusiasts with money to spend loved. The MAGs were exact replicas of the shoes, which were worn in the second BTTF movie. The MAG released in 2011 for the first time and had a re-release in 2016.

Both launches sold in limited quantities, and the original price was in the thousands. The 2011 launch had just 1,510 pairs, and the 2016 launch had only 89 pairs. All proceeds of the sales were donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which helps fund research into Parkinson’s disease, an ailment that Michael J. Fox, who played Marty McFly in the series, suffers.
