Posted by Bill Rippel on June 16, 2022 - 12:46am

86. 1972 Super Bowl Tickets

Maker: National Football League
Original Price: $94.38*
Worth Today: $3,500+*

Super Bowl tickets have become a surprisingly valuable auction item. Old tickets from the 1972 Super Bowl sell for over $3,500 at auction in some cases, as people are clamoring to own a piece of NFL history. The 1972 Super Bowl (Super Bowl VI) was a game between the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys.

Played at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, the cost of a 30-second commercial was $86,600. Now, the cost of a half-minute spot is $5 million, and that price is still rising. In 1972, tickets cost $15 ($94.38 in today’s money). Now, tickets start in the $5,000 range.
