Location: Jupiter Island, Florida
Purchased: $38 million*
Current Value: $39 million*
John Malone, who made his billions from cable, paid one of the highest purchase prices in the history of Florida real estate for this Jupiter Island retreat. Malone paid $38 million for the mansion on 440 S. Beach Road, which was sold by the estate of Horst Brandstatter, the creator of the Playmobil.

This is far from Malone’s first real estate purchase. The cable tycoon owns over two million acres of land, spread out over seven states. Malone’s new Jupiter Island home includes 506 feet of beach, a 3,100-square-foot home, pool, dock, guest house, and forty-foot elevation. The estate agent who sold Malone the mansion says he hopes it puts Jupiter Island “more on the map.”
