For a long time, I thought my job was to force the garden to grow.
I spent years pulling weeds, measuring boundaries, and trying to bend the soil to my will. I believed that if I just worked harder, pushed faster, and controlled every variable, I could guarantee the harvest. Perhaps you have felt this way in your own life, your business, or your personal journey—carrying the heavy weight of believing that everything rests entirely on your shoulders.
But life has a way of teaching us that the most profound growth happens in the spaces we cannot control.
When we step back and look at the natural world, we realize there is an invisible blueprint already at work. The seed knows how to open. The seedling knows how to reach for the light. The soil knows how to nourish.
Our hands are not meant to force the life spark; they are simply meant to tend to the soil.
When I stopped trying to force the outcome and instead began focusing on simply nurturing the ground beneath me, everything changed. I realized that my only true task is to show up, clear the rocks, water the earth, and trust the process. There is a quiet, sacred alignment that occurs when we surrender the need to control the future and instead offer our gratitude to the present moment.
This journey of surrender isn't about giving up; it is about stepping into a deeper kind of trust. It is about standing on your path, pausing by the quiet benches of life, and noticing the subtle miracles blooming right at your feet.
We often look so far down the road, searching for the end goal, that we miss the golden light filtering through the trees right now. We miss the quiet, healing moments—represented so beautifully by the sudden, unexpected bloom of a blue flower in a field of gold.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, tired of pushing, or uncertain of the road ahead, I invite you to join me in a simple shift of perspective:
I am no longer trying to force the garden to grow. I am simply grateful to be a part of it, one hour at a time.
