Two Young Men

Posted by Bobby Brown on June 18, 2020 - 11:49pm

Two Young Men.

Twenty-five years ago, two young men began their working lives. Both achieved similar academic results, both came from similar families. Today, one heads his own business, is a Millionaire ten times over, and is married to the ‘girl’ he met and fell in love with 25 years ago.

The other ‘young man’ is between jobs, recently asked his friend for consulting work, and has been married, divorced, and is hoping for a new relationship. What’s the important difference ? Why has life turned out so differently for two young men who were so alike and such mates ?

One reason is the habits that both young men incorporated into their daily lifestyle. Every human being has bad habits, including our successful businessman. The difference, however, is his willingness to change his bad habits into good habits.

Research now shows that most habits are formed before a child leaves primary school. This is a frightening thought when you realize that many people still consider primary school a poor cousin in importance to secondary school.

The point here is that the life which ultimately succeeds is the life which is willing to change poor habits to good habits.

“If we want to change a situation, we first have to change ourselves. To change ourselves effectively, we first have to change our perceptions.”
