You are what you eat... in fact one step further is that you are what you assimilate. In other words -- If your cellular communication throughout your body is not properly sending and receiving / listening and talking ... the entire network breaks down. This leads to cell damage -- aka the AGING PROCESS..
About every 28 days, your skin replaces itself. Your intestinal lining 4 days, stomach lining 10 days, your liver 5 months. your bones 7-10 years. Your body makes these new cells from the food you eat. What you eat literally becomes you. You have a choice in what you’re made of.
What science has now discovered and is also proving vital for increasing our genetic expression (DNA), is that special molecules required in every cell of our body - redox signaling molecules - need to be in ample supply and proper balance, so we absorb and assimilate all of our nutrients we ingest - whole foods, phytonutrients, minerals, anti-oxidants etc. needed for healthy cellular Construction and Repair.
As a simple illustration, you can think of these nutrients, supplements, etc. as the 'building materials' of a continuous home improvement project throughout our entire body. The redox signaling biochemistry discovery tells us that now for the first time, we can consume and apply topically to our skin, these 'contractors and laborers' (RSMs) to the project, to instruct, organize and follow the correct blueprint of rebuilding and repairing the cells in our body.
