How the Kingdom of God Looks Like Here on Earth

How the Kingdom of God Looks Like Here on Earth

By Caleb Mpamei

"The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it."
-Dee Hock

Children don't have to deal with this issue, hence their natural creativity! Christ said, "The Kingdom of God consists of such little ones as these."

May we have to humility to consider how to become like children again in the way we think.

Paul said, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." (Rom. 12:2).  I believe we can be transformed and our world can be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Let's pause often to think about this amazing tool called the mind that God has given us to be a blessing to this world and learn to use it.

The mind is a gift from God.  This gift is part of what it means to 'be created in His image'.  Our mind is what makes us divine in our nature.  It was damaged and tainted when sin entered our world. But Christ came to restore it back to its original state. That's why Paul said in his first letter to the Corinthians, "Christ has become wisdom for us from God..." (1 Cor 1:30) and "We have the mind of Christ."  (1 Cor. 2:16). I find that incredible!  I am still coming to terms with the truth of these statements.  But it is true. And I live my life renewing my mind with these truths.  I am plumbing the depths of these truths becuase they have tremendous implications for how our ordinary lives can impact this world in powerful ways beyond what we can think or imagine.

If you resonate with this post, I would like to invite you my group called NinetyTen where I am developing a community of givers who would like to impact their world with their spirit of entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

Caleb Mpamei I am not asking anything for this group specifically. The idea of the group is to inspire people to become entrepreneurs and give to others - to your favorite philanthropic organizations or start one yourself. I grew up hearing "give 10% to God and live on the rest." NinetyTen is working on inverting that idea. I am thinking about a group of people who are working towards giving away 90 % and yet being able to live the life of their dreams on the remaining 10%. Hence the name of the group NinetyTen. It's a really huge dream but dreams are suppose to be big. Right? The seed of this inspiration is the story of Colgate I heard when I was a small child. And it's a process. We encourage people to start giving 1% if 10 is too much. But the idea is to continue to push towards increasing that percentile to reach 90. So, it will be a journey of a lifetime to reach there for many.
