What My Crypto Wallet Looks Like After Three Years of Crypto Twitter

Posted by Chris Corey on June 24, 2026 - 4:09am

Pulled up my portfolio this morning. Wallet looks like a yard sale held by someone who lost a bet.

Three years in. Hundreds of "this is the one" posts later. Here is what actually accumulated.

The Memecoin Graveyard

Four memecoins from threads where someone called themselves "based." All down 95 percent. One has a dog on it. One has a frog. One I genuinely cannot remember buying. The fourth was supposed to be the "Ethereum killer" of 2024. Ethereum is fine. The coin is not.

Lesson nobody learns. If the entire thesis fits on a t-shirt, you are the exit liquidity.

The DeFi Farm Nobody Mentions Anymore

I am still earning yield on a protocol that has not tweeted since November. The yield is paid in a token that trades against another token that depegged twice. My APY says 847 percent. My actual returns say "please log off."

There is a real lesson in here. Sustainable yield is boring. Boring is fine. If a protocol promises you triple-digit returns on a stable, the stable is doing the bleeding.

The NFT I Cannot Sell

Floor is 0.003 ETH. Gas to list it is 0.004 ETH. Math is unkind. The art is a pixel cat wearing sunglasses. I told myself it was a community play. The community is now me, alone, in a Discord that has not had a message in eleven months.

The Coins That Are Actually Working

Boring stuff. Bitcoin I bought in 2023 and forgot about. Some ETH I keep meaning to move. A small stablecoin position parked in a protocol so dull I cannot remember the name without checking.

These are the only positions making me money. They share three traits. None of them were trending. None of them had a roadmap that mentioned "ecosystem." And I bought them when I was bored, not excited.

The Pattern Nobody Wants to Hear

Crypto Twitter is a slot machine. Every post is engineered to make you feel like you are missing the trade and the only way back in is to act now, today, with the funds you swore you would keep parked in cash. You are not missing the trade. The trade you are missing was over six months before the post.

What works for me now. I read three sources I trust. I check positions weekly, not hourly. I assume any token under a $50 million market cap is mostly liquidity I cannot get out of. And I treat any thread that uses the word "asymmetric" as a sell signal.

The real edge is not picking winners. It is not buying the noise.

Wallet is still a yard sale. But the new additions are smaller. Progress.
