The Baba Stana district is located near the village of Oreshak in the municipality of Troyan, in a picturesque area at the foot of Mt.

It is located under a wooded hill in a small hollow with springs. Preserved old Revival-style houses can be seen.
Here is a new Christian church built by John Brisby. He is a royal adviser to Elizabeth II and the grandson of the richest Bulgarian - Konstantin Hadjikalchev. Constantine's father, Hadji Kalcho Drenski, was born in the Baba Stana neighborhood. John Brisby continues the tradition of giving to his ancestors in the Trojan region. Every year in the schools of the city of Troyan the "John Brisby" awards are given to the best students.

The Baba Stana district was founded by a widow named Stana. She moved from the town of Troyan to the area where the neighborhood is currently located along with her twelve children – 6 girls and 6 boys. At that time there were many robberies and atrocities committed by the Turks in the city, which were especially dangerous for women and children. In earlier times, atrocities were committed by the Crusaders. According to doctors and scientists, syphilis, which was transmitted by the crusaders on their journey to Jerusalem, also appeared at that time. To escape from the terrible disease, Stana moved to a secluded area in the forest. So when it comes time to name the neighborhood as a growing settlement, the name Baba Stana is chosen.
