I am like so many people, I like dried fruit on occasion. Last night I brought a bag of dried apricots. Eat about 10 of them and in about 30 minutes, was having awful stomach cramps, blotting and gas.

This lasted from approximately 10:00PM to approximately 6:00am this morning.  Up, quite a few times during the night as you can imagine.

This morning I considered what I had for dinner but, the main item that stood out was the apricots. I read the label, and there it was "Sulfur Dioxide" used as a preservative for the apricots and other fruit.

Healthy Eating (website)
Sulfur dioxide might not sound good enough to eat, but this food preservative does make its way into a number of edibles, including dried fruits such as raisins, dried apricots and prunes. Sulfur dioxide is one type of sulfite, a preservative whose name might be more familiar. Even a small amount of sulfite can wreak health havoc if you're sensitive to it. If you have asthma, sulfite sensitivity or sulfite allergy, eating dried fruits might cause serious health problems, including breathing problems, life-threatening allergy-like symptoms or, in rare cases, death. I feel just find now but, next time I have to - "Don't Forget To Read The Label"..!  Not reading labels could possibly -kill- you..!
