What Exactly is Pancake Swap?

Just when you think you might just begun to understand the lingo of crypto another pops up. In this case it was Pancake Swap and CAKE. I just had to Googe it to find out what is was all about. Here are some of the qustions and answers that have been asked about Pancake Swap plus information from the webiste https://pancakeswap.info/home  .

PancakeSwap Intro

PancakeSwap is a decentralized exchange running on Binance Smart Chain, with lots of other features that let you earn and win tokens.

It's fast, cheap, and anyone can use it.

It's also got pancakes and rabbits.

The exchange is an automated market maker (“AMM”) that allows two tokens to be exchanged on the Binance Smart Chain

Why Binance Smart Chain (BSC)?

In very simple terms, why would we want to drive a slower car that costs more to run? We're all about gamification, so we want to maximize the feedback loop of earning, staking, and earning again: BSC's superior speed and much (much much) lower transaction fees let us do this.

While BSC might not have the level of adoption Ethereum does at current, we believe in Binance’s ability and drive to get it mighty close in the foreseeable future.

Business Partnerships

Farms and Syrup Pools

Farms incentivize users to provide liquidity for your trading pair by distributing CAKE to your pair's LP Token holders.

Syrup Pools are a way of distributing your tokens to BSC users who stake CAKE in the pool.

These two products go hand-in-paw on PancakeSwap: when a project provides their tokens for a Syrup Pool, we'll also create a Farm. If you're looking to distribute tokens and incentivize liquidity, get in touch.

Apply to run a Syrup Pool

  • Please don't email us to apply - we only respond to applications via the application form.

  • Please don't chase us for a response on your application. We have a constant backlog of quality projects reaching out to us.

Syrup Pools

Syrup Pools: where sweet, new tokens meet the PancakeSwap community!

Syrup Pools allow Binance Smart Chain projects to bootstrap adoption by distributing a portion of their tokens to CAKE token holders.

Syrup Pool is split into two sections: Core and Community.

  • Core will be initially selected by the PancakeSwap team.

  • Community will be projects that pass a community vote on the governance portal.

Note that any project will be able to distribute tokens via Syrup Pool, but only projects that win a vote would be listed on the swap interface as a default option (in order to discourage scams).

Why would projects want to participate?

Since PancakeSwap has had the fairest launch ever, Syrup Pool projects will allow projects to receive market attention by issuing tokens to the largest (and most active) BSC community.

Projects will also receive an immediate default listing on the PancakeSwap interface, obtaining priority promotion on the exchange (by ranking temporarily first in selecting tokens on the website).

Is PancakeSwap legit?

Disclosing PancakeSwap, the first scam and cover up on Binance Smart Chain. PancakeSwap (https://pancakeswap.finance) is a decentralized exchange running on Binance Smart Chain, with lots of other features that let you earn and win tokens. It also lets you lose a lot of money due to a flaw in their contract.5/11/2020

How does PancakeSwap make money?

PancakeSwap introduces innovative ways to create new income streams. Users can secure profits using the DEX and enjoy lower fees. They can also stake and farm their tokens to earn rewards effortlessly. The network supports the trading and issuance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).7/03/2021

  Adding liquidity to PancakeSwap pools

You can add liquidity to PancakeSwap pools to earn trading fees and CAKE tokens by staking your FLIP tokens (LP token). You can add liquidity to PancakeSwap pools on the ”exchange” tab.5 days ago

IFOs (Token Sales)

"IFO" (Initial Farm Offering) is a new model of token sale pioneered by PancakeSwap. Here's how it works, in short:

  • Users buy your token with CAKE-BNB LP tokens

  • After the sale, we distribute the BNB to you and burn the CAKE.

Learn more about how IFOs work here.

Apply to run an IFO

  • Please don't email us to apply - we only respond to applications via the application form.

  • Please don't chase us for a response on your application. We have a constant backlog of quality projects reaching out to us.

Listing on the Exchange

How can I list my token on the exchange?

Anybody can "list" any BEP-20 network token on PancakeSwap. You don't need to contact us or ask permission. You just need to add liquidity to a liquidity pool - that's it. Traders can then trade your token by entering your token's contract address.

How can I add my token to the default list?

You need to launch a Syrup Pool or IFO in order to be added to the list. See above.

We don't accept requests to add tokens to the approved list.

How can I add my token's logo/icon?

PancakeSwap's exchange references Trust Wallet's excellent assets collection for icons. Please add your icon here: https://github.com/trustwallet/assets

How Mush Liquidity is Involved?

Based on the following chart there are more than just a few dolars involved.

and finally:

Lottery

Specifics:

  • Lottery Ticket Fee for 1 ticket: 1 CAKE

  • Single User Lottery Entry Limit: No overall limit, but only 50 can be bought at one time through the UI

  • Paying for one ticket will give users a random 4 digit combination with each digit being between 1-14, for e.g. “1-9-3-2”

How to win:

To win the lottery jackpot (50% of the entire lottery pool), users need to match all 4 numbers on their tickets in the same position as the 4 winning numbers.

If you don’t match all 4, no need to worry. As long as you match 2 or more numbers in the correct position, you are guaranteed to win a reward.

Winning Ratio:

  • Match all 4 numbers in the exact order = win 50% of the pot (or split the pot if more than 1 winner).

  • Match 3 numbers in the exact order = win or split 20% of the pot.

  • Match 2 numbers in the exact order = win or split 10% of the pot.

  • Burn the remaining 20% of the pot.

Simon Keighley First time I've heard of the lingo - Pancake Swap and CAKE, John - thanks for explaing how the features on the decentralized exchange let you earn and win tokens.
