Charles Bridge - a mystical place in capital Praha

From Wikipedia:

Charles Bridge (Czech Karlův most ) is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the early 15th century.

The bridge replaced the old Judith Bridge built 1158–1172 that had been badly damaged by a flood in 1342. This new bridge was originally called Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or Prague Bridge (Pražský most), but has been referred to as "Charles Bridge" since 1870. The bridge is 516 metres (1,693 ft) long and nearly 10 metres (33 ft) wide.

1357 – At 5 hours and 31 minutes, Emperor Charles IV laid foundation stone for the construction of a stone bridge in Prague over the Vltava River, later named after its founder. The time was not chosen by chance, it was a magical series of odd numbers. Construction began according to Petr Parléř's project and was completed three years after Parléř's death in 1402.

1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 7 - 5 - 3 - 1    =    9th July (7) 1357 at 5.31

This exact time was very important to the Holy Roman Emperor because he was a strong believer in numerology and felt that this specific time, which formed a palindrome (1357 9/7 5:31), was a numerical bridge, and would imbue Charles Bridge with additional strength.

During the centuries Charles Bridge suffered several damages but it survived. Capital repairs were done between 1965 to 1978. The stability of the pillars was reassured, all broken stone blocks were replaced, and the asphalt top was removed. All vehicular traffic has been excluded from Charles Bridge since then, making it accessible by pedestrians only.

During the last years especially in the tourist high season the bridge is so overcrowded you can hardly

make there a nice photo. There are also painters offering their work.

Long time it was the only bridge in Praha

We hope the well chosen date and the horoscope of Charles Bridge will ensure it will survive all floods and bad events.
