Coronavirus and mathematics

I have found an interesting article on Czech web and so I send the main part of it here

According to mathematics, the coronavirus itself disappears, but theories have already arisen more

Several interesting theories have already emerged about the coronavirus, which Israeli professor Isaac Ben Israel says the virus should disappear on its own after a while. But there are also completely unsubstantiated reports that can be very dangerous.

Governments are planning measures for months to come, while scientists are working hard to develop drugs and vaccines to cope with the insidious coronavirus. Maybe for nothing! At least, according to leading Israeli mathematician and analyst Isaac Ben Israel. In his opinion, the number of infected in the affected countries will fall to zero after 70 days. This is another of the unconfirmed theories that have emerged in connection with the pandemic.

A simple statistical analysis reportedly shows that the top of the spread reaches the disease Covid-19 after 40 days, for the next month decreases the number of infections virtually to zero. "This will happen no matter where the disease strikes or what measures the government imposes," says Professor Ben Israel.

Let´s hope that mathematics (from Greek "knowledge, study, learning") , the queen of sciences, brings justified optimism !

Olov Forsgren It must have been something wrong in the original equation for covid 19, right? Almost a year later, wich means now, we are in the middle of the third wave and the spread of infection is worth then ever. We cant even expect it to go away in 70 days from now.

M H You are hopefully right, Bill, now after longer time and more statistics it looks better.

Bill Bateman I think the "legend of COVID" has been way over reported. When the math catches up I don't think it will look anywhere near as bad in time.

M H Yes, Simon. There are so many different scientific opinions about it.

Simon Keighley Let's hope the number of corona-virus infections falls to zero after a few months Margaret - thanks for sharing.
