What to do in the time of Coronavirus
This is a short summary which vitamins and minerals support our immune system.
It is not the only function of them but in these days we have to concentrate on our immunity.
vitamin A
- prevents the absorption and penetration of viruses
vitamin B6 (pyridoxin)
- for normal function of white blood cells
vitamin C
- supports the activity of T lymphocytes and phagocytosis - phagocytes destroy decaying cells
vitamin D
- has similar to hormonal effects - prevents viruses from replicating
- lack of vitamin D is usual , here are really needed nutritional supplements
zinc
- prevents the absorption of the virus, gluing and replication
- activates T lymphocytes
- sucking lozenges every 2 hours with the onset of sensation of some cold in the mouth helps
Important is that in case of vitamin C especially during the pandemia we need much more
than the usual dose. The level of vitamin D is quite usualy low in our bodies so it is good
not to forget to enjoy more sunshine and to complete it with supplements.
I know most of it you have heard already many times but repeating cannot harm - eat well,
vegetables, fruit, lot of lemons,good meat, take some supplements.
Finally I have one information which is not very positive but we have to be realistic. The reproduction number of influenza virus is 1,4 but the reproduction number of coronavirus is 3,8 . Scientists say this shows it is not a seasonal virus and the epidemy will last longer.
