Celebration in Nusantara
“Nusantara is being developed according to the concept of a forest city, a city full of greenery, not a city made of concrete or glass. But it is also a smart city full of technology, in which it is pleasant to live," the DPA agency quoted the president as saying. According to the plans, flying taxis will provide transport in the city.
The city of Nusantara should be completed by 2045. The Indonesian government wants to invest only twenty percent of the total costs in the construction, the rest should be covered by foreign investment. So far, according to the authorities, the first of five stages of construction has been completed.

Until now the capital of Indonesia was Jakarta, with the population over 32 million people it is the second largest city in the world after Tokyo.
Jakarta is the economic, cultural, and political centre of Indonesia. Jakarta's main challenges include rapid urban growth, ecological breakdown, air pollution, gridlocked traffic, congestion, and flooding due to subsidence (sea level rise is relative, not absolute). Part of North Jakarta is sinking up to 17 cm (6.7 inches) annually, meanwhile the southern part is relatively safe.
