The building of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on Neglinnaya Street in Moscow was evacuated this Friday after an anonymous message about mining. According to the emergency services, explosives experts and dog handlers with dogs arrived at the building.​​​​​​

"The Bank of Russia received an anonymous threat about mining operations. Personnel were evacuated, all necessary services were called, and an inspection is underway, " the Central Bank confirmed.

RIA Novosti, citing a statement from the emergency services, writesthat "the attacker called because of bitcoins."

To date, the verification has been completed, information about mining has not been confirmed.

"The staff is returning to their jobs," the Central Bank's press service said.

On January 20, the Bank of Russia published a report in which it advocated a legislative ban on the issuance and organization of cryptocurrency circulation in the territory of the Russian Federation.
