I Got a College Degree…. Yeah, That’s Why You’re Flat Busted, Fool!!!!

“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” - Vince Lombardi, head coach of the Green Bay Packers (1959-1967).

“I want my money back”, 4-year college degree isn’t worth much in today’s global economy because millions of others have the same bloody credentials.  I listened to my parents and bought the package, “go to college (university), work hard and get a good job for 40-years and then, retire”.  The plan worked well for them but, one glaring oversight exists today.  I am in the Digital-Age and entrepreneurship seems to be a better option than a 6-figure investment in “sheepskin parchment” and there’s no job at the end of the journey.  Oh yes, that investment in real fiat currency language is called really called debt and I see more examples of creative entrepreneurship involved in both paying it back or avoiding it in the first place.  It seems millennials and other segments of the population are recognizing that college like marriage in many instances is a poor investment and often leads to voluntary financial annihilation.  So, another approach is being implemented and what many now call The Age of the Entrepreneur.

Watch social media or mainstream television and you constantly see a new start-up company featuring a new technological innovation (social media device) or trend in the marketplace (e.g. sugar babies…young women exchanging their time with wealthy older men for compensation to pay for college/university).  Yes, it does have that flavor of the World’s Oldest Profession (Marriage) but, both remain legal (marriage/dating) because when the genders get intimate then, the economy (government) gets paid and that’s what you call governmental entrepreneurship.

Yes, marriage/dating are businesses for both women and government that yield incredible financial benefits such as child-support, divorce, vaginamoney (alimony), consultant fees for experts (psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers), restaurant bills payed by men, jewelry and remarkable billable hours for attorneys.  Oh yes, let’s recognize human interaction involves Inbound Marketing where you work to earn the attention of your desired prospect.  Yes, this is Free Market Economics and the payoff can be huge if children and tying the NOOSE (marriage) is involved.  Yeah, a revenue stream that primarily benefits women, attorneys and government.  Nothing like a legal transference of wealth from a man to three economic mercenaries. Seems, Charles Dickens recognized the so called entrepreneurial spirt of Barristers/Solicitors when he said, “the on great principle of English law is to make business for itself”.  No doubt, very true.

Alright, what about graduate school or professional degree requiring more specialized skills and training to increase your VALUE in the market place?  Hey, it’s a plan, but again, the competition is also very fierce because there are limited openings, many smart people who qualify, but are financially busted and willing to perhaps sacrifice their soul for both the company and salary that goes with the position.  Yes, employers have access to a surplus of talented and extraordinarily skilled individuals at a fraction of their true market value.  Yep, it’s Free Market Economics at work.  Yeah, a shift in the global economy that began with Agrarian Economy and now in the Digital Economy.  The Information Revolution is

here, but the jobs not so much and neither will you be without an adjustment in this computer-digitized economy that continues to grow at an exponential rate.  Yes, Post-Secondary Education will prepare you for a job; however, if the jobs aren’t there then, what’s PLAN B?  Hell, receiving certification in different areas of Information Technology is a more intelligent investment than going to an Ivy League University minus professions such as Medicine, IT, Engineering and Law; however, they also involve increased learning of computer integrated functions to advance their respective profession.  They smell the money and will not be left behind when enhancing their skills will increase their market value as future consultants.

Well, allow me to offer a SOLUTION which requires a shift in your thinking from employee to employer.  A shift in mindset that holds the philosophy espoused by the late Jim Rohn, “Profits are better than wages.  Wages make you a living but, Profits make you a fortune”.  A simple but, true statement because “wages” are about the minimum, while “profits” are about maximizing based on market value.  Living to pay your utility bills and rent essentially is about mediocrity and in the digital-age with endless opportunity to improve your quality of life then, you’re rendered as irrelevant.  Now, think about profit and its ability to impact your life even working part-time generates greater benefits long-term.  Skeptical, look at the revenue generated by companies due to the Internet and software technology.  I will not even document the numbers because it constantly changes and this is why the entrepreneur needs to focus on “profits” because he /she is more capable of being innovative and receptive to the consumer (needs & demands) than most businesses that still use old Outbound Marketing and sales strategies.

Yes, operating your own business and providing your audience with service/product that solves a problem then, increases your VALUE in the marketplace and so does your PROFITS.  It’s about and always will be about bringing value to the marketplace through your efforts and not a static company.  So, College/University offers millions of people the opportunity to work for somebody else, but becoming an Entrepreneur/Home Business owner offers YOU the means to work for yourself.  Hey, that's what entrepreneurship is about and not remaining on a corporate plantation where indivduality isn't and never will be embraced as the norm.  Oh yes, here's some information that you will find interesting ..10 reasons Why Entrepreneurs Should Never enroll in College...enjoy.
