This vinyl disc has two singles from Charlie Patton. On the A-side, you have “Love My Stuff,” and on the B-side is “Jersey Bull Blues.” Patton recorded the vinyl album in 1934. Patton, who also spelled his first name as “Charley” sometimes, has been called the “Father of Delta Blues.” He was born in Mississippi.
Patton was active in music from 1916 until 1934, making this one of his final works. Patton drew from his heritage—he was Black, white, and Cherokee Native American—when making music, and his gravelly, rough voice reportedly could be heard from 500 yards away.
