The Can’s Monster Movie was released on the Liberty label, and the first vinyl came out in 1969 in Germany. This album was classed in the “Krautrock” genre, and it has become one of the top-selling Krautrock albums of its generation. Monster Movie had three tracks on the A-side, beginning with “Father Cannot Yell.”

“Mary, Mary, So Contrary” and “Outside My Door” were the other two A-side tracks. On the B-side, there was just one twenty-minute recording, “You Doo Right.” The unique sleeve art of this vinyl (likely contributing to its high auction price) was done by Wandry’s Studio. Monster Movie was recorded live in Norvenich.
