Elon Musk’s X has hired Benji Taylor, a product designer with over five years of experience in the crypto industry, as the design head at the social media platform.
In August 2020, Taylor founded a consumer software studio, Los Feliz Engineering, that the decentralized lending protocol Aave Labs acquired in 2023.

After joining X, Taylor said the first thing on his agenda is to improve everything at the social media platform—a move Musk welcomed. Taylor responded, "Lots to do!"
X product head Nikita Bier also welcomed him to the team and said, "I met Benji six years ago when I invested in his app." He added it was one of the most well-designed products he had encountered and knew right away Taylor was on track to become one of the best designers in the world.
Next, Taylor said he is building the "dream" design team at X and xAI and actively hiring. He encouraged interested product designers to apply to join the team for the best work of their careers.
In January, X announced the launch of a new tool, called "Starterpacks," on X. The new tool will help new users find the best X accounts according to their interests, including crypto-focused packs, such as Crypto Founders, Bitcoin Maximalists, etc.
