17 Important Reasons to be an Internet Entrepreneur
If you’re thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, I hope reading this inspires you.
I bless the day I came across a post that said “I can become an internet entrepreneur if I am smart enough“. Since that day I have always found love for online business. And since I became a full-time internet entrepreneur, I have never regretted it.
If you are not yet convinced about becoming an internet entrepreneur, then this post is right just for you.
If you have ever thought of a business where you could choose when you work, where you work, and who you work with, it is the internet business.
Let me share with you why I am happy that I am an internet entrepreneur and why you should consider becoming one.
The internet is one of the most important inventions in all of modern history. It has revolutionized the way we communicate, learn, and work. With its ability to shape our world and change the way we live, it has become a necessity for us. From online banking to social media, e-commerce sites to web applications – these are all aspects of life that would be drastically different without it.
Yes, you are your own boss when you become an internet entrepreneur. No one gets to tell you what to do and how to do it. No one gets to yell at you for coming late to the office.
2. You Can Create Jobs
As an internet entrepreneur, If your business becomes successful, you’ll want to hire a few employees. The larger your business becomes, the more people you’ll need to hire.
In this business, I get to make my own rules and choose when I work. I am happy when I sleep late at night because I know I don’t have anywhere to go the next morning if I wake up late.
3. Low Capital Startup Cost
The Internet has made internet entrepreneurs starting a business to be simple and cheap. With just a website or even a fan page, you can already start a multitude of businesses – such as a bakeshop, an apparel store, or a bookstore – without the need for a brick-and-mortar office or shop.
This also makes it very easy for you to test the validity of your business idea. For example, we have managed to grow our offline review business into one of the biggest in our province within the span of 3 years without the need to maintain an expensive office.
If you have always dreamt of a day when you will be in charge of your time and still make money, then starting an internet business is your exit strategy.
4. You Get to Work in Your Pajamas
As an internet entrepreneur, you don’t need to wake up early to take your bath and get dressed. You can work right from your bed in your pajamas.
Most times, I don’t even get out of bed until I have done something that puts money into my bank account because my laptop is always by my side. This is how I start my day after my morning prayer!
5. All You Need is a Laptop and an Internet Connection
For a regular business, an internet entrepreneur will need more than just a computer. But for an online business, you will just need a computer (desktop or laptop), an internet connection, a target market, and a business mind-set.
As an online entrepreneur, you can work from a coffee shop, from the beach, work while you are traveling on the train or anywhere. You don’t need a permanent office to work as an internet entrepreneur. My office is wherever I feel like putting my laptop down as far as there is an internet connection there.
6. You Can Earn Passive Income
Passive income is money that you earn on a regular basis without having to put in much effort to maintain it. One example of passive income would be the monthly rent check a landlord receives.
Just about everyone loves the idea of passive income because it means that you can make money while you sleep – and use the daylight to do whatever you like.
Because a good website can earn money without much maintenance, online entrepreneurs have a fast track to earning passive income. Some of the ways to do it are by hosting advertisements on your sites, selling products, and developing membership programs.
7. Supplier Research
The Internet can be a very valuable source in searching for wholesalers or service providers you will need for your business. This gives you the opportunity to look for the best and cheapest providers without having to do an inordinate amount of legwork and spend a lot of money. Along with the profile review feature of some buy and sell platforms like eBay or Amazon, this makes the Internet very effective in this particular task.
8. You Market to the World
With the web, you can sell your products or services to anyone in the world as far as you can reach the person via the internet. You don’t need to travel to make deals, you do that with either your smartphone or laptop with an internet connection. I have done business with people as far as South Africa, Indonesia, Malawi, Gambia, the United States of America,Ausatralia, Russia, England, Germany, Nigeria and many other countries.
9. You Learn Something New Every Day
Here’s another benefit to having the varied duties of an entrepreneur: there’s always more to learn.
Even if one day you were able to learn everything involved in making money online, you would wake up the next day and have more to learn. As an online entrepreneur, the better you’re able to keep up with up-to-date technologies, techniques, and trends, the easier it will be for you to be successful.
Personally, I love the sense of progress I get when I learn a valuable new concept or skill. I also like that I’m always challenging my mind and keeping it sharp.
10. It Helps Build Your Network
The difference between achieving your wildest dreams and being left in the dust can be as simple as knowing the right person.
Some occupations are better at building your network than others. But you probably won’t make a ton of connections while working in the same office every day year after year.
Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, are always meeting new people. They have to reach out to potential clients, customers, and partners if they want to keep their business moving forward. All of that turnover helps entrepreneurs to have some of the biggest (and most lucrative) networks around.
With all these benefits of why the Internet is very important to entrepreneurs, it’s no wonder that small start-ups that maximize their use of online tools and opportunities are edging out established offline businesses everywhere and in a matter of a few years. Make sure your business doesn’t fall into the latter category!
11. Your Earning is on Autopilot
As an internet entrepreneur, you get to make money even while you are sleeping. You can be sleeping and you wake up to see that someone has bought one of your online products or has registered for one of your paid courses.
Autopilot software has made our business so easy that we don’t have to always stay glued to our system to get paid. This idea of making money while you sleep should be a motivating factor in why you should join the league.
12. You Must Not Have Your Own Products
There is an internet business called, affiliate marketing. With this kind of business, you don’t need to spend time creating your own products, all you need to do is just choose any products that you like to sell and get a commission after every sale.
With affiliate marketing, you get paid a commission from every sale you make. You can become an affiliate to Amazon, eBay, Clickbank, and sell any product that suits you.
Please, have it in mind that the products you will be selling must be related to your niche as an internet entrepreneur. For example, if I want to sell products as an affiliate marketer, I will have to sell products like ebooks that relate to either freelance writing or starting an online business.
13. There is NO Income Limit
There is no limit to how much you can make as an internet entrepreneur. You get to pick how much you want to make monthly and work towards it. Whatsoever you make online on a monthly basis depends on how you market your business and how much you are charging for your products or services.
14. More Free Time
I have a friend who is always hard to find because he is always at work until 8 at night from Monday to Friday. I have never loved this lifestyle from the beginning. I have never loved someone telling me where to be because I depend on that instruction to get paid. I have always cherished my time. I have always wanted to be available to spend time with old school friends and family members when I wish. Thank God, my online business made it possible for me.
15. You Get to Create Jobs
You think becoming an internet entrepreneur means you have to work, work, work, work like Rihanna sang? That only happens at the early stage of the business. As your internet business begins to grow, you start outsourcing some work to freelancers.
Google started with only two people, but today, it has over 30,000 employees. What would those people be doing if Google had not employed them?
Benjamin Franklin once said, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Planning is an important part of many aspects of our lives, and is especially true in business. Success often doesn’t simply happen by chance, but requires a willingness to plan and put in the work. This particularly rings true for entrepreneurs, as creating a business plan can help them determine the skills necessary to succeed. They can help you identify potential strengths and weaknesses, determine the strategies you are going to implement and communicate your ideas effectively. Once you understand the importance of planning in entrepreneurship, you’re better suited to create your plan. Let’s get started!
According to Entrepreneur, there are three main elements of a business plan:
To break this down further, plans should include seven key components:
Additionally, a cover, title page, and table of contents should be included.
Now, why did I share this post with you? It’s so you can start thinking about the internet business that you would love to start.
