What is the first thing you should learn in affiliate marketing?

What is the first thing you should learn in affiliate marketing?

Here's an article to remind those of us who are striving to become affiliate marketers what the key point to remember is. Written in 2019 by Cameron Manning and published on Quota Digest.

Cameron has this to say:

As an affiliate marketer myself, the one main lesson I keep having to teach myself is the concept of time.

Everything is so quick and effortless in our modern lives. Fast food. Fast wi-fi. Fast-tracks. So it comes a shock to us when we are confronted with something that requires a lot of energy, determination and resilience.

That is what affiliate marketing is all about: never giving up.

At points when you are making your blog or creating a video, it will seem like you are getting nowhere. You are getting zero traffic, zero conversions and all the effort you are putting in is wasted on things no-one will see. You have to remember, even the best affiliate marketers have gone through this predicament. Everyone started at point zero.

Its up to you to convince yourself that all this time and effort will blossom into something beautiful. Which it will.

Think of it as probability model. If you keep posting quality blog content. If you keep promoting your products. If you keep posting on your social media accounts. If you keep targeting niche keywords to rank on Google. If you keep giving your consumers something of high perceived value, the probability of you reaping great rewards increases. I doubt there’s any blogs filled with quality, valued content that not a single person visits.

This game is all about resilience. After all, they say the hardest journey is making your first $100, not your first $1000 or $1000000. The start is the slowest, so keep grinding it out and the rewards are guaranteed.
