Designer Giancarlo Zema predicts that, one day, there will be floating suburbs and apartments. His Trilobis Floating Apartment Concept is proof of that. The floating, trilobite-like apartment is currently only a mockup on paper, but it could be more one day. The Trilobis 65 is a family-sized floating housing unit.

It has a transparent dome that can house a family of six, and the 65.6-foot-long boat has four levels, making the houseboat surprisingly spacious. The four levels are linked together by a spiral staircase. The basement has an underwater viewing area, which lets you see into the ocean or lake where you’re docked. Hopefully, this cool concept is reality one day.

johnnorman That's a very interesting concept. You would want to hide the keys from your teenagers if you were away for the weekend . I image the insurance could be a big cost especially if they were not permanently moored..
